One-to-one coaching

Individual coaching is a series of one-to-one conversations between you and a professional coach. Through personalised guidance it builds self-awareness and resilience and gives you the tools to handle complex challenges. It is especially valuable when you are moving into a new role or taking on greater responsibility.

How it works

1. NominationYour line manager nominates you and explains the development needs coaching will address.
2. Your IDPYou add coaching to your IDP and create a learning request on Oracle.
3. Choose your coachesHere, in this pool: read the profiles and pick up to two coaches.
4. Chemistry meetingsHR arranges a short meeting with each coach. You tell HR who you choose.
5. Coaching sessions6 sessions. With LM and HR approval they can be extended to 9 at most.
6. EvaluationAt the end you fill in a short survey on the programme’s effectiveness.

Good to know

• The programme is 6 sessions; if more support is needed to reach your goals it can be extended — 9 sessions is the maximum.
• Coaching is completed within 6 to 9 months, with no more than one month between sessions.
• It is recommended for mid-level and senior managers, and is used for SRP development and the development of critical roles.
• Coaching is for development needs where training, mentoring and other tools alone are not enough — it reinforces your leadership development rather than replacing it.
